Growing Healthy Kids: A Professional Growth Dinner and Workshop for Parents, Teachers, and Child Care Providers

The date for the event is Thursday November 8th from 4:00 pm until 10:00 at the Chico Grange. 2775 Nord Avenue.

(Note: This is not on Hwy 32. From East Avenue - between the Masonic Family Center and the railroad tracks - turn South on Nord Avenue. Stay on Nord until you see the Grange Hall on the left.)

The event is being organized and sponsored by the Chico Community Children's Center, Co-hosted by the Chico Food Network.

Cost for Teachers and Child Care Service Providers is $5.00 to cover the cost of the dinner.

Location: the Chico Grange Hall 2775 Old Nord Avenue Chico, CA 95928

The main speaker will be Dr. Cindy Wolff, Director of Opt for Fit Kids,

A garden swap meet from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm "last of the season" says Jeremy Miller - organizer,

a garden compost demonstration presented by Butte County Ag Extension Master Gardener Instructor, Danielle Baker,

and a few words from "Gardens in the Classroom Afterschool teacher Debra Abbot and evening Chef: Eartha Shanti are additional features.

Child care will be provide onsite.

The program will include a nutritional video "The Greatest Diet on Earth" by Dr. Joel Fuhrman, author of Disease Proof Your Child.

We are looking to arrange for credits and workshop will apply toward Professional Growth Hours for Child Care Teachers and Providers.
